What things have gone wrong with the car?Unexpected trips to the repair shop, and then delays to get parts from the factory (in JAPAN!). Brakes wear out quicker than I'd expect.

General comments?I bought my '96 almost 3 years ago with 25,000. Mileage is now just over 80,000. I had a throwout bearing break after 55,000. The $30 part took out the back half of the tranny. Total cost: $1,700. Even the dealer said that doesn't usually happen. Lower ball joint has a recall in effect for '94-'97. HAVE IT CHECKED OUT! Mine failed in my driveway. I was lucky. I've had to replace the front brakes once a year. Car drinks a quart of oil every 1000 miles. Overall, the car has held up rather nicely. I'm still a bit nervous about the car, and what's the next unexpected trip to the shop will be for. The Galant is good for a family man
Previous car97 Accord: My brother-in-laws car. Galant styling has definite edge, but Accord's proven reliability record is a huge plus.
