| ||What things have gone wrong with the car?||Do not buy this car NEW!!! Mitsubishi loves to cut corners, so be aware!!!* Brakes -- You will have a problem with the brakes squealing, you will have to replace them every twenty thousand miles-(Per my dealer)|
| ||General comments?||For the money you can't go wrong... but then I again I got a great deal I payed $14000 out the door. That Price included alloy wheels, a spoiler and a 30000 warranty, Thank GOD. Reviewing everyone elses comments kinda concerns me. I haven't really had to many problems myself. I can however relate to the brake problems with the front and back brakes ( you would think mitsubishi would fix it ). I've been lucky and blessed I haven't had any major problems. I have notice the poor get-up out of the blocks, but once you get going, the car performs well. I've also noticed that this car likes to be driven, the more you drive it the better it performs. If your "Driving Miss Daisy" it's going to pick up like a Hyundai. I am a little suspect of the transmission. I have also had the brakes and the car shaking at high speeds, a problem which is easily fixed by replacing the break pads, just be sure to get the expensive but cheaply made pads from the dealer...these pads only last about 20000 miles. If you do decide to get the aftermarket pads you'll be sorry, the squeeling will drive you crazy. If your thinking about modifying your Galant with high performance racing parts try again there ain't none. I recommend buying this car used the resale value sucks, and you can get great used car financing through a credit union. Overall I think the 99 Galant is a good buy for the money. It however can't compare to the Accords Quality, or the Maxima's performance, But it is 5,000 dollars less than the Maxima or Accord. The car has it's little problems but they are little problems. It has a good engine and will not leave you stranded on the side of the freeway.|
