| What things have gone wrong with the car? | Air-conditioning is inadequate - interior cooling is poor and very slow. Buyers living in Florida or the desert Southwest beware! Front brake rotors have been serviced four times in 20,000 miles (common complaint). A summer 2000 Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) called for special machining of the rotors, special pads, and new lower control arms. Early-model 1999 Galants all shipped with defective, low-strength plastic interior door handles that break easily. Sightline at top of windshield is low for drivers over six-feet. | |
| General comments? | 3.0-liter V-6 engine is excellent (the 4-cylinder model is nice for a four too). Overall quality is inferior to rival products from Honda and Toyota but the styling is sharper and the price slightly cheaper. | |
